PFLAG NATIONAL CELEBRATES NEW MEXICO MARRIAGE EQUALITY VICTORY!
WASHINGTON, DC—PFLAG National—the nation's largest organization for parents, families, friends and straight allies united with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)—has issued the following statement from Executive Director Jody M. Huckaby regarding today’s vote in favor of marriage equality in New Mexico:
“Another huge win as New Mexico becomes the 17th state to claim marriage equality as the law of the land. New Mexico, a place truly close to my heart having called it home for six years, is so very rich in its cultural diversity, and today’s ruling by the state Supreme Court is a testament to that diversity being celebrated in all of its forms. We congratulate New Mexico PFLAG members and supporters, and are thrilled that they and all LGBT people and their allies across the state will be able to celebrate marriage equality for all. Today, the Land of Enchantment truly lives up to its name!”
