PFLAG National Statement on Supreme Court "Hobby Lobby" Decision

PFLAG National today released the following statement from Executive Director Jody M. Huckaby regarding the Supreme Court's decision on Burwell v. Hobby Lobby:

Every branch of government—from the legislative to the executive to the judiciary—should send the unequivocal message that "freedom of religion" does not justify discrimination of any kind; we are dismayed that today's Supreme Court ruling in the Hobby Lobby case does not reinforce that sentiment.
PFLAGers across the country strongly favor religious liberty and freedom to worship—after all, many PFLAGers are also people of faith—but the freedom to worship and hold personal religious beliefs does not mean the freedom to discriminate. We will continue to strongly stand in support of the LGBTQ community, sharing the message that being a person of faith and a supporter of equality are not mutually exclusive.
